Using the in-wall modules Did you buy the Marmitek in-wall modules like the LW11, the AW10 or the SW10? Great, now you got an state-of-the-art X10 wallswitch. But does it fit in your interior? In the delivery package is a nice single frame, so you can build your switch into the wall. But usually, there is more than one swich in a single location. According to the manual, the switches are compatible with the Jung CD500-series. These Jung series are unfortunately hard to come by and rather expensive. I found a better solution.		De inbouwschakelaars gebruiken Heb je net een Marmitek inbouwschakelaar gekocht, zoals de LW11, de AW10 of de SW10? Gefeliciteerd, je bent nu in het bezit van een high tech X10 schakelaar. Maar past hij ook in je interieur? In het afleverpakket zit keurig een enkel inbouwraam. Meestal zullen er echter meerdere schakelaars bij elkaar geplaatst moeten worden. Volgens de handleiding zijn de schakelaars qua vorm compatibel met de Jung CD500-series. Deze Jung series zijn echter helaas vaak moeilijk te vinden en erg prijzig. Ik heb een betere oplossing gevonden.
The Dresco materials A found the series of Dresco Electra material to be fully compatible with the Jung CD500 series. Until now, I only found the Dresco materials in the Dutch Praxis shops, but if you find it anywhere else, just let me know. The Dresco product range consists of multiple trimplates, switches, etc.		De Dresco materialen Op een gegeven moment kwam ik de Dresco elecra materialen tegen. Deze bleken volledig compatibel met de JUNG CD500-serie. Tot nu toe ben ik de Dresco materialen alleen nog maar bij de Nederlandse Praxis bouwmarkten tegengekomen, maar laat het me even weten als je het ergens anders tegen komt. De Dresco productserie bestaat uit verschillende afdekplaten, schakelaars, stopcontacten etc.

Er zijn afdekplaten voor 1 tot 4 elementen. In het midden is een originele Marmitek X10 enkelvoudig afdekraam te vinden.
Using the Dresco trimplates It is very easy to use the Dresco trimplates. Just forget about the single trimplates which was accompanying your in-wall dimmer or in-wall switch and use your own 1-, 2-, 3- or 4-component trimplate. When working with any trimplate, take note of the installation order. From back to front, there is first the metal bracket for the swich, than the trimplate, the switch or dimmer itself.		De Dresco afdekramen Het is erg eenvoudig om de Dresco afdekramen te gebruiken. Vergeet gewoon de standaard enkelvoudige trimplate die bij je schakelaar of dimmer is geleverd en gebruik je eigen 1-, 2-, 3- of 4-voudige afdekplaat. Denk bij het installeren wel aan de volgorde van de onderdelen: van achter naar voor komt eerst de metalen houdplaat, dan het afdekraam en dan pas de schakelaar of dimmer.

Tip: since there is not much space behind the dimmers, feed the wires behind the wall socket and split the wires there. From behind the wall socket, run the wires to the dimmers.			Twee Marmitek LW11 inbouwdimmers in combinatie met een stopcontact in een Dresco ivoorwitte afdekplaat. Tip: aangezien er achter de dimmers vrijwel geen ruimte over is kan je beter de draden doortrekken tot achter het stopcontact. Hier splits je de draden waarna je ze naar de dimmers leidt.
For comparison: two Dresco switches in combination with a wall socket. Note that the Marmitek in-wall dimmers come much more forward.			Ter vergelijking: twee originele Dresco schakelaars in combinatie met een stopcontact. Merk op dat de Marmitek schakelaars veel verder naar voren komen.
More about trimplates The trimplates are symmetric, meaning that the trimplates can be used both vertical or horizontal. The installation is not really different.		Meer over afdekramen De Dresco afdekramen zijn volledig symmetrisch. Dit betekend dat ze zowel verticaal als horizontaal gebruikt kunnen worden. De manier van installeren is vrijwel gelijk.

Combinations It is also perfectly possible to combine a Marmitek switch or dimmer with a normal Dresco switch. Although the X10-switches stick a bit more out of the wall, the difference with a normal switch is not big.		Combinaties Het is uitstekend mogelijk om de Marmitek schakelaars of dimmers te combineren met een normale Dresco schakelaar. Hoewel de Marmitek schakelaars iets verder uit de muur steken, is het verschil met een normale schakelaar niet zo groot.
A combination of a normal Dresco switch and a Marmitek LW11 in-wall dimmer. There is a small difference how much the switches stick out of the wall. The LW11 dimmer can be replaced by the AW10 in-wall switch which look exactly the same.			Een combinatie van een normale Dresco schakelaar en een Marmitek LW11 inbouwschakelaar. Er is een klein verschil in hoever de schakelaars uit de muur steken. De LW11 inbouwdimmer kan vervangen worden door de LW10 schakelaar die er exact hetzelfde uitziet.
Other options The Dresco trimplates are also available in ivory, gold and metal-grey. Remember that the switchplates will always be white, but you might like the combination.		Andere opties De Dresco afdekplaten zijn ook verkrijgbaar in ivoor, goud en metaal-grijs. Denk er wel aan dat de afdekkap van de schakelaar altijd wit is, maar misschien hou je wel van die combinatie.

Surface mounted switches Sometimes there is simply no other option that to use surface mounted switches, for example if the dept of the in-wall boxes are less that 50 milimeter. A LW11 or AW10 will simply not fit in a 40mm deep box. Take a look at my page about surface mounted switches.		Opbouwschakelaars Soms is er simpelweg geen andere keuze dan het gebruik van een opbouwschakelaar, bijvoorbeeld omdat de diepte van de inbouwdozen minder is dan 50 milimeter. Een LW11 of AW10 past simpelweg niet in een 40 milimeter diepe inbouwdoos. Kijk hiervoor op mijn opbouwschakelaars pagina.
